Dolores Campos

Dolores Campos, 76, was born November 20, 1941 in Blue Earth, Minnesota, the daughter of Roberto and Juanita (Ortiz) Renteria. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at her home.
Dolores was a very giving, loving and kind woman. More than anything, she treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandsons. She enjoyed babysitting in her younger years. She loved the children that she cared for and treated them as if they were her own. Dolores volunteered at Jackson Elementary in her free time. After raising her kids, she enjoyed working outside of the home, especially at Bob Allen Sporting Goods, which came to be known as Norwood Tech. Thanks to her husband, she became an avid sports fan, always rooting on her Iowa Hawkeyes and Minnesota Gophers. She also enjoyed attending the Iowa Cubs baseball games. Dolores was known for her cooking and she always had a special touch she put on every dish she made. She loved music and loved to dance. Dolores enjoyed reading, shopping and browsing at the Farmer’s Market.

Dolores is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Victor Campos; children, Victor Campos, Jr., Lisa (Steve) Campos-Pond and Nicole (Sanel) Talic; grandchildren, Cameron Quinn (Emily) Campos and Alexander Victor James Pond; great-grandson, Quinn Alan Campos; sister, Rosie Castellano; brothers, Ralph, John and Robert Renteria; numerous nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond, Rudy and Tony Renteria.

The family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2018 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Road. Cremation will follow mass and private burial will take place at a later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.
