The sweetest woman in the world is gone. On March 30, 2018, Jacqueline Kim Stroud, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, after a long battle with Type 1 Diabetes.
Kim was born on May 4, 1959 in Denver, Colorado to parents, James and Jeanne Rickets. Kim grew up in Des Moines, and graduated from Dowling High in 1977. Kim pursued a career in insurance underwriting with Continental Western Insurance in Urbandale.
A loving wife and mother, Kim and husband, Andy raised 5 children in the Saydel area. Kim enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, long walks, and listening to music. She loved to vacation in Salida, CO and the Rocky Mountains. Most of all, she loved to hang out on her back deck with Andy, her dog, Pepper, and the cat.
Kim is survived by her loving husband, Andy; children, Lisa Miller, Amber Gaskell, Ashly Beasley, Charlie Stroud, and Carl Stroud; siblings, Jeanette Bryant, Joyce Taylor, Jeff Ricketts, and Kevin Ricketts; grandchildren, Chloe Carson, Grayson Gaskell, Aiden Miller, Emma Miller, and Zander Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jeanne Rickets; and daughter, Jessica.
Please join the family for a Celebration of Life on May 26, 2018 at the Cottonwood Rec Area, Shelter 6, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Family would like to give a special thanks to Kim’s sisters, Joyce and Jeanette, who traveled from Oregon to be with them for the final days.
Goodbye Kim, you will be deeply and forever missed.

Mom I love you more then you could know and I'm so very sorry that you didn't want us around but that doesn't change the fact that I never stopped loving you and hoping for a better relationship

Kim,
You were a wonderful addition to our family. You loved my brother thru 25 years of marriage. Raising 5 kids wasn't easy but you did it. Thank you for being my sister in law.
You will be truly missed by our family. Rest in peace.
