Service Details
James Bishop, Sr., age 81, passed away peacefully April 21, 2018 at Fountain West surrounded by family.
He was born October 13, 1936 in Indianola, Iowa to Doyle and Virgie (Goode) Bishop. He married his wife, Naomi on July 29, 1956. Naomi precedes Jim in death.
A visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will follow the service at Elm Grove Cemetery.
In addition to his wife, Naomi, Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Doyle.
He is survived by his children, Cindy Hayes (Jeff) and James Bishop, Jr. (Julie), nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, brothers, Bob, Dick and Ralph and sisters, Kathleen and Kay.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Suncrest Hospice in loving memory of Jim.
