Lavern Campbell

Lavern Campbell, Sr. passed away peacefully August 10, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 23, 1960 in Marianna, Arkansas to Rosetta and Robert Campbell.

Lavern graduated from Strong High School in Marianna and later moved to Des Moines, Iowa to complete some of college coursework. He help serve at various funeral homes in the Des Moines Community as a family services assistant. Lavern had an artistic eye, more specifically, projects involving glass. Above all else, he loved to make people laugh; it was his number one goal in life and could do so with the drop of a hat.

Lavern will be missed by his children, Clarice Jackson, Yvonne Campbell, Lavern Campbell, Quillian Evans, Rosezetta Taylor, Xavier Taylor and Gloriana Taylor; his fiancé, Mary Grayson as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie Campbell; mother, Rosezetta Ricks; brother, Otis Austin and sister, Verna Williams.
