On Thursday, October 11, 2018, Joseph Frank “Joe” Jesser, 91 of Des Moines passed away from natural causes at his home on his family farm. Joe was born to Frank and Mary Jesser on June 27, 1927, at home on the same family farm. Joe attended Woodside Schools and later enlisted in the United States Army. He served in Alaska during his enrollment at the time of the Korean War and was a member of the Infantry.

Joe was a lifelong farmer, and a skilled diesel mechanic and worked at Massey Ferguson in various capacities. He also worked in the construction industry during his career. Joe was a member of the Teamsters and Laborers Union, the American Legion and was a lifelong member of All Saints Catholic Church.

Joe is survived by his sister in law, Neda Jesser and many generations of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles and David and two infant brothers; sisters, Adele Maroon, Em Israel, Boots Leavell and Cecelia Polich.

Uncle Joey’s legacy will be carried on by all the generations of nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.

Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2018 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at All Saints Catholic Church, 650 NE 52nd Ave., Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to All Saints Parish, in loving memory of Joe.
