Marie Seiler

Marie Seiler, 88, died Thursday, October 2, 2008 at the Mitchellville Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2008 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 N.W. 60th Ave. with burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Boone, IA. The family will greet friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Marie was born April 14, 1920 in Jolley, IA to Clarence and Ethel Reed. She was a hair stylist and owned her own salon for 20 years before her retirement in 1980. Marie enjoyed playing cards, traveling and spending time with her family.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Lynette (Mike) Nelson; son, Thomas (Pam) Seiler; brothers, Donald (JoAnn) Reed and Bill (Jean) Reed; sister, Marilyn Crohan; grandchildren, Kelle (Joe) Sickerson, Jenny (Todd) Birkenholtz, Staci (Humberto) Ortiz and Blake Seiler; and great-grandchildren, Jayme, Katie, McKayla, Keller and baby Ortiz on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Seiler; parents, Clarence and Ethel Reed; two brothers, Charles and Robert Reed; and a sister, Fearl Richmond.
