Richard Dean Woodruff, Sr. was born to Henry Lee Woodruff and Mary Lucille in Clarinda, Iowa, the second eldest of 8 children.

Richard came to age and held a position with the National Guard and then the US Army in 1955. He did his part for the Korean War effort and was a proud veteran.

Richard loved spending his time watching westerns, eating good country cooking, and going to church socials. He also loved fishing and going to garage sales.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Sue Woodruff; his brothers, Samuel (Thoy) Woodruff of Shambough, IA, and Clair Woodruff of Missouri; sisters, Mary (Donald) Eberly of Cheney, WA, Florence (Donald) Cross of Claremont, OK and Vicki Lasley of Clarinda, IA; his four children, Rickey Lee Woodruff, Kenny Carl (Patricia) Woodruff of Iuka, MS, Richard Dean Woodruff, Jr. of Bourbonnais, IL and Penny (Robert) Wingo of Bradley, IL. He also called eleven step-children his own, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Richard passed from this world in the early hours of Saturday, February 16, 2019, ending his long battle with COPD.
