Brett A. Hellekson

Brett Allen Hellekson, age 52, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 due to complications from stage 4 lung cancer.

Brett was born December 28, 1966 in Des Moines, Iowa to Dean Hellekson and Linda (Dewey) Durbin. He enjoyed fishing and reading. He worked most recently for two years in the warehouse for Napa DC. For 25 years previously, he worked in reproductions of Civil War era clothing for Coon River Mercantile.

Brett is survived by his common law wife of 23 years, Lisa Adamovicz; son, Joshua Mallas; mother, Linda Kay Durbin (Gerald Dean); father, Dean Hellekson; sister, Janice Hellekson; nephew, Tyler Hellekson; step-sisters, Tammy Abels (Jeremy) and Angie Cummings (Eddie); step-nieces and nephews, Jordan, Lauren, Brandon and Collin Abels and Aiden, Norah, Lathem and Lily Lou Cummings; his best friend for most of his life, Charles “Clifford” Dyer; and many extended family and friends.
