Service Details
Mary Frances Nau, 70, passed away June 7, 2019. Services will be held Saturday, June 15 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines at 12:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior.
Mary was born January 21, 1949 in Boston, MA to John and Hannah (Foley) Levins. She graduated from St. Gregory High School in Dorchester, MA and Northeastern University in Boston where she met her husband, Everett Nau. Mary worked in the insurance industry for over 40 years. She and Ev enjoyed barbershop music and traveling to the conventions, and taking cruises. She was an excellent and devoted Nana to her grandchildren, and was always working on a craft project.
She will be deeply missed by her son, E.J. (Debra) Nau; her grandchildren, Emmaline, Isabelle and Jacob Nau; her sister, Anne Perry; and brothers, John P. (Eugenia) Levins and Michael J. (Trudy) Levins. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ev Nau in April 2019; and her sister, Winifred Kelly.

EJ - So sorry for your loss. I just recently heard about your Dad, and was in the process of contacting your Mom to express my condolences. You were little when I last saw you. I spent many wonderful times with your Mom and Dad during our time with the Sounds of Concord, Barbershop conventions, and afterglows at Howard Johnson's in Concord, MA! I am reading your Dad's book and find many parallels between his early life and mine that I never knew about. Again, my condolences - Mary was a wonderful woman.
