James Ray Walker

James Ray Walker, age 62, passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 at his home in Des Moines.
Jim was born September 13, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa and was the son of Billy Robert Walker, Sr. and Mary Lee (Darrnell) Walker.
He was a hard worker and a retired jack-of-all-trades. Jim loved his cat, Wego and enjoyed fishing and all types of racing. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and liked listening to the Rolling Stones and Johnny Cash. All kids loved him as he was a big kid at heart. He could always make you laugh.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Lee Walker; sons, Jimmy R. Walker II, Joshua J. Weller, and Jacob R. Weller; grandson, Jensen D. Walker; brother, Billy R. Walker Jr. and his wife, Kathie; nieces and nephews, Melissa K. Wallace and her husband Billy, Shane A. Bennett and his wife Lauren, Billy R. Walker III and his wife Kara, Zachary D. Walker, and Kelsey C. Walker; great-nieces and nephews, Billy D. Wallace Jr., Kaytlynn J. Wallace, Xander B. Walker, and David E. Walker.
James was preceded in death by his father, Billy Walker (Bing) and his sisters, Kay Lynn Bennett and Cheryl Cook.
There will be a celebration of life at Eagles Lodge, just off Army Post Road at 6567 Bloomfield Road, Des Moines on Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

You were the coolest! You always made us laugh hysterically! You will be missed and there will always be an empty spot very noticeable whenever everyone gets together. Rest easy, Uncle Jim.
