Gary D. Stitzell, 80, passed away on August 19, 2019 in Des Moines. He was born May 19, 1939 in Des Moines to George and Mildred (Erickson) Stitzell.

Gary enjoyed tinkering, racing, working on cars, snowmobiling and model trains. He was a handyman who could fix anything when he set his mind to it.

He is survived by his daughters, Susan Stitzell and Jana (Tim) Ernst; grandchildren, Jeremy (Holly) and Cassie Ernst and Nick (Annie) Stitzell; and many extended relatives and friends.

Private family interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
