Duc Van Lo, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on August 22, 2019 at the age of 55.

Duc was born in Vientiane, Laos to Tho (deceased) and Tom Lo. He was the fourth of ten children and moved in to Iowa in 1978.

Duc worked as a machinist for Vermeer and Rosenboom in Iowa. His spare time was spent fishing, bicycling, and enjoying time with his family and friends. He was a skilled fisherman and few people were able to match his incredible fishing talent.

Duc is lovingly remembered by his four children: Tyler James, Tennyson Joe, Mercedes Janny, and Brianna. He also has four beautiful grandchildren: Kato, Mila, Rio, and Rosalie.

Not only is Duc survived by his four children, two daughters-in-law, four grandchildren, his mother, and his nine siblings; he is also survived by a multitude of other caring family members and friends.

Duc’s motto in life was “Don’t worry about me everybody, I am fine.” Although his loss is tragic and untimely, it is comforting to know he truly is at peace now as he joins his father, Tho, in heaven.
