Barbara Jane Ballas, age 75, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born the daughter of Donald and Hazel Green on September 17, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa. Barbara enjoyed playing computer games and taking trips to Prairie Meadows to gamble. Above all, she especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Ballas; children, Brenda (John) Wells, Kimberlyn Field, Michelle (Rich Sr.) Morris, Bradley Ballas, Tonya Anderson and Amanda Ballas; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews as well as other loving relatives and many special friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; grandsons, Ian Ballas, Cody Mikesell and Ricky Field; two sisters; and two brothers.

Celebration of Barbara’s Life will be held at Highland Park American Legion Post #374, 3712 2nd Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50313 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.

Memorial Contributions may be directed to the family to assist with funeral expenses.

If Roses grow in Heaven,

Place them in my Mother’s arms

Tell her I love her and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
