Richard L. Warden

Richard L. Warden, 77, passed away November 15, 2019 at Taylor House.

Richard was born March 8, 1942 in Mercer, Missouri to Leslie and Margaret Warden. He married Sharon Duncan on January 24, 1970. Richard retired from the State of Iowa on July 27, 2006, where he worked in Revenue & Finance for 39 years. He moved to Las Vegas in 2010 and worked as a security guard. Richard returned to Iowa in 2018. He enjoyed fishing, racing, watching sports, especially football. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Minnesota Viking fan. Richard loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Casey (Chris) Waltz, Melissa (Brad) Cole and Angela Warden; brother, James Warden; grandchildren, Chase, Cheyanne, Caleb, Connor, CallieAnn and Bethany; as well as a host of extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Bob, George and Karen; and his beloved wife, Sharon.

The family will greet friends Tuesday, November 19, 2019 from 4 to 5 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 5 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
