Velva Thomas

Velva O. Thomas, 90, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010, in Dodge City, Kansas. She was born August 30, 1920, in Baxter, IA to Dwight and Dulcia Cross. She graduated from Mingo High School.

She was a former member of Trinity Open Bible and Central Assembly of God Church in Des Moines.

She is survived by her children; Donna Mae Knop, Lowell Eugene Sheuy, Kathy Damron, Lois Slater, Lola Little, Linda Faye, Loretta Johnson; 24 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry LeRoy Sams.

A graveside service will be held noon, Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
