Harvey Petrie
June 05, 2011
Harvey Petrie, 71, passed away peacefully at home June 5, 2011.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon; children, Sheri (Doug) Moylan, Ronald Petrie and Deana Lee; grandsons, Kyle Moylan (Aubrey) and Kevin (Jill) Moylan; and many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss him, especially Little Eli. He will also be missed very much by his little fury daughters, Abby and Bindi.
Harvey retired from Terex Corp. in Cedar Rapids, IA. He lived to fish and hunt with his brother, Bill and brother-in-law, John Clark. He loved smoking bbq, relaxing and making jerky for the kids.
A special thanks to sister-in-law, Debbie who was with us all the way, Dr. Caletier and Dr. Lair for two more years to fish and hunt.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

I never met Harvey, but I worked w/his daughter Deana for many years at Geico. If he was anything like Deana is in character & spirit, he would've been a person that would've been fun to be around & laugh with. I hope your family finds comfort in this time of mourning, and I read a bible verse that seems fitting for you all. Psalm 34:18 -"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed."

Praying for all of you and wishing I could be there for you all. I will forever cherish the trips us and Harvey took to the flea markets and farmers market. He was such a great guide he toted us all over town. Planning ahead as to where we were going on the next trip. He will be greatly missed but forever in our hearts. Much love, Cousin Nettie:)
