Shirley Kelley Shirley Elaine Kelley passed away on July 23, 2012, while residing at the Mitchellville Care Center in Mitchellville, Iowa.

Shirley was born in Iowa on July 11, 1934. As a young woman, she moved to Aurora, Colorado, where she married Austin “Al” Kelley. She attended Chambers Southern Baptist Church in Aurora, Colorado, for many years. After Austin passed away, Shirley moved back to Iowa in 1999, and settled in Altoona to be closer to her family. She was an active quilter, and loved TV, books, and crafts.

Shirley leaves behind her two brothers, Duaine Loper (Pearl) and Steven Brown (Chris); two sisters, Marilyn Lind (Elden) and Sharon Downey (Sam); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She will also be remembered by her step-daughters, Debbie Sander and Paula Bruckhoff.

Per Shirley’s wishes, she will be cremated and laid to rest beside her beloved husband Austin, in Clovers, New Mexico.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mitchellville Care Center for the purchase of new patio furniture.
