Beverley May (Garrison) Richards Beverley May Richards, 85, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Des Moines Rehab Center.

Beverley was born January 25, 1932, in Des Moines, Iowa, to James and Naida “Bobbie” Hitchcock. James was a tail gunner on a B-25 Mitchel medium bomber, who was killed over Yap Island during World War II. Naida married Warren Garrison, who adopted Beverley. In 1947 at KRNT Radio Theater, Beverley received the Lord as her personal savior during a Billy Graham meeting. She has faithfully honored Christ in her life ever since.

Beverley graduated from North High School in 1950, then entered Drake University completing the Pre-Medical course of study. She then completed her Medical Technology study at Mercy Hospital, receiving her Registered Medical Technologist designation. She was employed at several hospitals throughout the state in the pathology labs, the last being Dr. Burge Pathology Laboratory.

Beverley was united in marriage to William “Bill” Richards on June 9, 1956. They are current members of Union Park Baptist Church. He survives her.

Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be for two hours prior to the services. Beverley will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Osceola, Iowa.
