Marilyn Mae Douglas, age 86, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019.

Marilyn was born May 15, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa to C. Edwin and Ida Mae (Barton) Moore. Her father was Chief Justice of the Iowa Supreme Court. She worked as a secretary in the mental health field and as a teaching associate for Hoyt Middle School. Marilyn enjoyed antiquing and traveling, especially to Texas, New Mexico, and the southwest. She was a proud Doe with Elks Lodge 98 in Pleasant Hill. She was a Rainbow Girl, a member of Alpha Mu Sorority, and raised money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

She is survived by her sons, Kirk Rollins of Bensalem, PA, Dave Douglas (Deb) of Des Moines, and John Douglas of Des Moines, her grandchildren, Elizabeth Douglas, Amanda Douglas, Bailey Douglas, Shane Douglas, Christopher Douglas, and Sadie Rollins, and numerous other family and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husbands, James K. Rollins and Frederick Douglas.

According to her wishes, there will be no services held. A celebration of life and interment will take place at Laurel Hill Cemetery, day and time to be determined.
