Service Details
Rex R. Underwood passed away at the age of 86, at Methodist West Lakes in West Des Moines, Iowa on November 7, 2020. Rex was born in Centerville, Iowa on September 3, 1934 to Ruby (Riddlen) and Claude Underwood.
Rex grew up and graduated from high school, and then proudly served his country in the United States Army and the Reserves. He owned and operated Rex’s Barber Shop in West Des Moines for 38 years until his retirement.
Rex is survived by his wife of 66 years, Wanda; children, Ada Underwood, and Russell (Deanne) Underwood; grandchildren, Alicia (Ryan) Neururer, Aaron (Alyssa) Underwood, and Justin Underwood; and great-grandson, Benjamin Neururer. He is also survived by his siblings, nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Ron Underwood.

I throughly enjoyed Rex as a patient in our dental practice for years!! I always looked forward to his kind smile, upbeat attitude, and sense of humor!! So very sorry for your loss, I'm sure he will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
