Leigh Adelbert “Del” Lumbard was a man who loved God, loved people, and especially his wife and family. He went to heaven on September 17, 2021, at the age of 86. Del was born July 19, 1935, in Prescott AZ to Leigh and Opal Lumbard. During his senior year in High School in Tacoma WA, he made the commitment to serve God, which he did without wavering, for almost seventy years. While in Bible College in Eugene, OR Del met Joan Davis who became his wife. Together they had three sons, Mike, Marv, and Ric who have increased Del and Joan’s family to fifty-four.
Del and Joan pastored churches in South Dakota, Nebraska, and Iowa. He was known as a humble man who loved and served people.
The visitation to meet the family is Wednesday evening, September 22 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm at Experience Church, 2559 E. Euclid in Des Moines, IA 50317. The memorial service will be held Thursday, September 23 at 1:00 pm also at the church with livestream from the Experience Church Facebook page.

So sorry to hear the passing of Pastor Del. A true great man, who was everything he preached about. He had such a great loving family. I'll always cherish my times in the '80s with him and Calvary Open Bible Church. I still reminiscence about those days, some of the best days of my life. He'll be missed by all of us

Del and Joan were my Pastor's when I attended Calvary Open Bible Church in the 80's. My son, Benjamin was dedicated there. I so loved Del and Joan, and their sons, as well as my church family there. They were such gifted pastors! He is now in the Heavenly realms, and with Our Lord who proclaimed at his arrival, "well done, my good and faithful servant!"

Example, Leader, Preacher, teacher, mentor and for the last 17 or so years advisor, church mate and friend. He always had a front row seat where he belonged. He had ready smile and kind word for everyone. Remember the past and cherish your memories. We will of Del.
