Michael D. Lepley

Michael Delbert Lepley, 42, of Des Moines, Iowa passed from this life to the next on Friday, August 10, 2012. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa August 8, 1970. Michael graduated from East High School and Des Moines Area Community College. He was a printer for many years and later worked in the construction trades. Due to his declining health, he was retired for several years.

Michael enjoyed spending time with his three children and following their activities even when, due to his disability, he could not actively participate. He was very proud of his son’s baseball accomplishments, his youngest daughter’s recent swimming abilities, and listening to his oldest daughter’s experiences at Camp Hertko Hollow.

His funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with cremation to follow. A private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.

Michael is survived by his three children, Mikayla, Joshua, and Emily Lepley of Des Moines; fiancé, Katie Hilliard of Des Moines; her children, Abby, Eve, and Bruno; mother, DeAnna Beck and step-father, Alan Beck of Indianola; father, Michael E. Lepley and step-mother, Jane of Urbandale; sisters, Jessica (Justin) Eginoire of Indianola and Chelsea (Matt Johnson) Lepley of Madison, WI; step-siblings, Christian Beck, Kevin Keith, Melissa Peckosh, and Ryan Keith; grandmother, Helen Lepley of Des Moines; step-grandmother, Bette Graham of Indianola; plus several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob Lepley and Delbert and Eula Lynch; and aunt, Annette Lynch.
