Emily Hazelbaker, 18, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 14, 2013.

Emily loved music and dancing. She played clarinet in the marching and pep bands for S.E. Polk. She was an excellent student and had just graduated high school and was studying to be a dental hygienist. Emily excelled in dance at Joyce Maly Dance Studio in Altoona and enjoyed working at Dairy Queen.

Emily was a loving daughter and a daddy’s girl. She never held a grudge and always saw the good in everyone. She had a great sense of humor. Even though she had an angelic smile, most pictures of her show her with a duck face or her tongue out! Emily was an animal lover and an amazing friend to all who knew her. She loved her family fiercely and had a very special and loving relationship with her boyfriend, Jordan.

Emily is survived by her dad, Scott and step-mom, Tami Trimble; significant other, Jordan Conwell; siblings, Jamie (Aliesha) Kirby, Melissa (Joe Worley) Brueck, Megan Brueck and Megan Hazelbaker; sister-in-law, Shellie Kirby; grandparents, Floyd and Judy Hazelbaker; step-grandmother, Joyce Lenz; aunts and uncles, Troy (Christina) Hazelbaker, Dennis (Unchala) Kirby, Galen Kirby, Sherry (Tom) Fitzgibbon, Ronald Kirby, Alan (Marti) Kirby, Deborah (Monte) McCandless and Joyce Kirby; nieces and nephews, Caitlyn, Ryan, Brock, Madison, Gabby and Abbey Kirby; cousins, Chris and Jaydan Hazelbaker, Nova Kirby, Rhonda May, Kelly and Erin Fitzgibbon, Emily and Maddie Trimble, Alex and Rebecca Kirby, Mason Kirby, Austin (Cathy) Kirby, Justina Kirby, Kari (Justin) Reichter and Cassie McCandless, and Mackenzie Cline and Jennifer Niles; and many extended family members including Sheryl (Darwin) Barr, Gary Timmons, Sue (Mike) Burns, Patricia (Darrell) Bridges, Chad (Shellie) Bridges, Danielle (Matt) Bird and daughter, Brittyn, Troy Trimble, Dean (Elma) Smith, Brandon (Chantelle) Smith and sons, Caleb, Lee and Aidan; best friends, Alyssa Jacobsen, Kenzie Bills, Shelby Finch, Shebi Sieck and Paige Brown; her dogs, Shadow and Molly and her cat, Harley.

She was preceded in death by her mom, Vickie Kirby-Brueck, and grandparents, Warren and Pauline Kirby and Richard Lenz.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Grace Church, 4200 E 25th Street. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
