Timothy James Perry

Timothy James Perry, 46, died Friday, August 16, 2013. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.
Tim was born on June 6, 1967 in Chariton, Iowa. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Jefferson, IA and from Iowa State University where he lettered in baseball graduating in 1991 with a degree in Journalism. Later, he moved to Des Moines and received a degree in Nursing Home Administration from Des Moines Area Community College and worked for many years in this area. He married Susan Simon in 1991 and they were blessed with their son, Devin.
Tim loved watching and coaching his son in baseball. He enjoyed camping, being outdoors, and talking to people from all walks of life.
He is survived by his mother, Glenda (Binns) Gibson of Guthrie Center, IA; son, Devin Perry of Ames, IA; brother, Rod Perry of Albia, IA; sister, Cynthia Perry-Custer of Brenan, TX and many other relatives.

We had just recently heard of Tim's untimely death. Our condolences go out to his family. He was a great friend and he had a heart of gold. He will be greatly missed. We will always cherish the time we spend with him and his friendship, he was like family !

Glenda, Devin, and family, Tim was a good friend for many years. Although we went in different directions in the last couple of years we will never forget the many good times we had with him. Thinking of all of Tim's family during your loss. Will fondly remember the times that my son, Sean Barnard & Devin had together with Tim...on the baseball field & Tim's house. I recall a story of the pool water flooding too. Hugs to you Devin especially!

Glenda, Devin, Cynthi, and Rod, I am so sorry and shocked to hear about Tim. He and I had many good times together and I cared very deeply for him.
