Lou Ann Lemmo
July 16, 2014
Lou Ann L. Lemmo, 56, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.
Lou Ann was born December 6, 1957 in Des Moines to Frank and Lila Lacona. She was gifted with magical hands that she used to create. Lou Ann was notorious for her cooking, especially her guantis which she began making with her sister Patty at Funaro’s Bakery. She could make anything grow, from the flowers on the porch at Scala to her vegetable gardens. Absolutely everything & anything Lou Ann touched flourished, including hearts.
To know Lou Ann was to love her. She will be remembered by many as a caring, kind hearted, patient, loving, and passionate lady. Lou Ann was the “rock” of the family, her doors and arms were always open.
Lou Ann is survived by her soul mate and loving husband of 38 years, Tony; son, Tony Lemmo; daughter, Katie Lemmo; mother, Lila Lacona; siblings, Teresa Johnston, Frank Lacona and Linda Lacona; and a host of extended family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank and her sister, Patty Ann Stover.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014 with the Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Ave. followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.
**Please note the construction on SW 9th Street, there is still access to the funeral home from Kenyon off of SW 14th St. and SW 9th Street coming from the north. There is additional parking available in the north grassy lots off of Kenyon. There is also parking available at Christ the King in which the funeral home is providing limo shuttle service to the funeral home. We apologize for the inconvenience.

When Dan told me about Lou Ann I was very saddened. She was always a joy to be around and always lit up the Connolly gatherings at Tom & Angela's. God Bless.

Peace be with your family. I did not know Lou Ann personally, graduated with Frank Lacona from Lincoln in 1968 and am a big fan of Scala and Gusto. Hope the blessings of her life will sustain your family during these difficult times.

Hard to understand why God calls home the most loving and caring people we know so early. Has another purpose for them I believe. Loved working with her at farmers market for so many years. Love you guys and prayers with you.
