Brian Banning

Brian Banning, 64, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2014, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born April 3, 1950, the son of Gerald and Mary Beth Banning.
On July 25, Brian and the love of his life, Janet would celebrate 39 years together. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Everywhere he went he had a shadow, his grandchildren. He loved building things with his hands for his family and friends. Brian will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Brian is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Hollie (Troy) Harmison; Braden (Karissa) Banning and Doug (Krystale Brett) Banning; grandchildren, Abigail and Hunter Harmison; father, Gerald Banning; brother, Stephen (Bettye) Banning; sister-in-law, Sheryl Banning; 2 nieces and 8 nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Beth Banning and brother, Mark Banning.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines with burial at Berwick Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 25 at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Brian.

I have many great memories growing up with Brian. Such a great cousin. At a young age, I remember being in awe and seeing him as a "Rock Star" playing his guitar and singing. He was always so much fun. So many great memories. Full of Memories, Thoughts and Prayers.
