Mary Louise Mulry, 95, was born July 11, 1919, to Mary Gibbs and Tom Mulry in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She passed away at Fountain West Health Care Center in West Des Moines, Iowa on November 13, 2014.
Mary was a Registered Dietician and the Director of Dietetics at the VA Hospitals in Omaha and Lincoln Nebraska and completed her career at the VA Hospital in Des Moines. During her retirement she enjoyed traveling. She was a great cook and was often a judge at the Iowa State Fair.
Mary is survived by her nieces and nephews, Katherine Smith, Dr. James Mulry, Dr. Charles Mulry, and Rosemary Vanston.
Per her request, her body has been donated to science and a service of remembrance will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Emmetsburg, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be made to HETRA, a non-profit therapeutic horseback riding program in Omaha, NE in loving memory of Mary.
