Thomas Allen Callahan, 60, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, January 17, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Per his request, his body has been cremated. Services will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Faith Independent Assembly of God, 6001 SW 14th St., Des Moines. Family will begin greeting friends at 1:00 p.m. with a memorial service at 2:00 p.m.

Thomas was born September 4, 1954 on Aglin AFB in California to Robert Luellen and Alice Rebecca (Seddon) Callahan. He worked for Western International for 15 years. He then went on to work for ACH-Tones as a materials handler for 20 years. Thomas loved riding his motorcycle, especially the trips he took with his wife, and golfing with friends. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and watching movies. Thomas was the best of the best. He was a loving and giving husband, father, papa, great-grandpa, son and brother.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 40 years, Bertha; daughters, Mary Celander, Jay Jay Krutsinger, Rebecca Cain, Lorie Lenzine, Louise Breese, and Robin (Jerry) Pilcher; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Kathy), Richard, and Rodney; sister, Sylvia (Jeff) Gieseke; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant sister.
