Lena Houskin

Lena Houskin, 88, passed away April 12, 2015 at Scottish Rite Park. She has been cremated and will be laid to rest with her son.

Lena was born on September 12, 1926 in Strawberry, AR to Sular (Stedman) and Frank Cravins. She and her husband, Jerome Houskin moved to Chicago, IL where she was a homemaker and devoted mother to her son, Kermith. She later moved to Des Moines to be closer to her family. Lena enjoyed listening to gospel music, sharing the gospel of Christ, watching baseball, and spending time with family and friends. She will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lena was very kind and touched the lives of many.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Marcus Houskin and Latoya (Delane, Sr.) Lewis; and great-grandchildren, Kierra and Delane, Jr. Lewis. Lena was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerome Houskin; son, Kermith Houskin; and her siblings.
