Daniel Jones

Daniel Jones, of Des Moines, Iowa, died at age 77 at his home on April 17, 2015.

He was born on November 13, 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa to William and Leona (Mogensen) Jones where he continued to live the rest of his life. He was a cement finisher and worked on various projects throughout his life.

Dan enjoyed fishing, attending VFW activities and sports car races. He was a member of the AMVETS Post #2 and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan.

Dan is survived by his five children, Julie (Dale) Saffeels, Daniel (Pam) Jones, Wanona O’Reilly (Rick), Monte (Donna) Jones, and Kimberly (Tim) Glenn; sister, Lois (Charlie) Clark; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one on the way, and a host of extended family and loving friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis; second wife, Debra, his parents, and two brothers, David and Frank Jones.

Per Daniel’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
