Robert "Bob" Boothroyd

Robert “Bob” Boothroyd, 64, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines.

Bob was born June 20, 1950 in Des Moines. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Bob worked as an electrician for many years. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, walking and biking. He also loved woodworking.

Bob is survived by his children, Robert Jr., Kenny, Kim and Aidin; several grandchildren; his mother, Lorus; siblings, Gary, Mike, Dennis, Chris, Bill, Sandra (Chuck), Carol and Rhonda (Jason); and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; son, Randy; father, Walter; sister, Connie; and his step-father, Harold.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 9th Street. Bob will be laid to rest with military honors at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
