George LeRoy Mann

George LeRoy Mann, 74, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.
George was born April 22, 1941, in Missouri to Lloyd and Jennie (Young) Mann. He was the youngest of six siblings. He was a Christian man and his involvement with Grace Church and Pleasant Hill Evangelical Church was very important to him. He carried music in his heart and was always singing. George will be remembered by family and friends as a very hard worker.
George is survived by his wife, Zuchi; children, Irene Smith, Chyrl Mann, Jenny (Jim) Watson, Chris (Michelle) Mann, and John (Karen) Mann; sister-in-law, Elena (Rocky) Heuer; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Curt (Shirley) Mann, Virginia (Felix) Someillan, and LloydDean Crout.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, John and Ida Mae.
Services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Family will begin greeting friends at 10:00 a.m., with funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at New Virginia Cemetery in New Virginia, Iowa.

George was a bright light in a dark world. He was never ashamed of Christ or apologized for his faith. He challenged me in my youth, inspired me later on and now leaves a legacy of humble servitude. My deepest condolences to his family. Heavens gain and our loss.

We are so thankful that God made George a part of our lives. We will miss him and his positive personality but rejoice with you all in knowing that he is a child of God and is now with his heavenly Father. Hugs to all of you.
