Katherine Alice (Wenetta) Van Ginkel was born July 15, 1930 in Bondurant, Iowa to Fred and Nellie (Williams) Wenetta. Kay passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Altoona Nursing and Rehab at the age of 85.

Kay taught her five children how to have fun without using a lot of resources. She enjoyed impromptu picnics and helping Missy learn to ride a unicycle. Some of her favorite pastimes were dancing, bowling, reading, gardening, and playing cards. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her children, Cindy, Reneé, Melissa, Charles, and Steven; grandchildren, Angela, Sarah, Lisa, Adrian, Kendall, Kristopher, Levi, Lincoln, and Iva; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Robbie, and Sam; and her grandpuppies.
