Amy and Amber Fraaken
Des Moines
Amy and Amber Fraaken, mother and daughter, were taken from this life much too soon on Sunday, November 22, 2015. They were both beautiful people who were full of life. The world is a darker place without their joyful spirits here.
There will be a private celebration of their lives at a later date.
They will be forever remembered by Gregory Russell (son, brother), Sylvia and Ed Russell (parents, grandparents), Don Russell (brother, uncle), Wilda Fraaken (mother-in-law, grandma), and Carla and Jake Langford (sister & brother, aunt & uncle).
Condolences may be left for the family at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

Amy was a very special, warm, and trusted teacher to my son at Uncle Sam's. I will never forget seeing him run to cuddle up in her lap when he was scared of performing in the spring sing. She obviously loved her own kids a great deal and spoke often of fun plans she had with Amber. I feel really grateful that I got to know Amy and that she was a part of my son's life. I am so sorry for your loss.

Amy and Amber were such positive people, and wonderful spirits to everyone they came in contact with. I had the pleasure of working with Amy at Uncle Sam's where I later met Amber. They were always able to bring a smile to your face!! You both will forever be missed!!

Amy was a great spirit to be around. We had so many talks and I felt we trusted and valued each other. Over the past 6 months she showed guidance and was my cheerleader at teaching preschool. I was so proud of everything she was trying to accomplish and the loving parent she was. She talked about Gregory and Amber with such compassion. She had a true passion for children and what an amazing co teacher. I will always hold you close Amy. I look forward to seeing you and Amber again someday. I know Amy will always watch over all of her loved ones.

Amy was a wonderful person and a great teacher to our son at Uncle Sam's. We appreciate all the love she shared during her time on Earth, and know that she and Amber are together in Heaven. I hope that their family and friends find peace during this difficult time.

Amy : A quiet star starting to shine as an UIU student and blossoming into a great future teacher. This is such a tragedy and loss and we all morn for her and her daughter. As a friend and fellow student, we will finish our senior year with Amy in our hearts and her kindness and courage to teach the children of our future.
