I've known Russ for so many years that it will be doubly hard to realize he is gone. He kept my PC inbox filled with a lot of funny stuff and Iowa updates..
We shared the same Birth month.
I'm the eldest by 10 days.
He was someone who was there for you if needed.
He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear about Russ. I know we have not seen each other for a lot of years but I would think of you both on occasion about the good times we had together. I am also sorry to have missed the memorial service as I did not see it in the Sunday paper until that afternoon. Bev, know that you are in my prayers. We should get together and catch up. I will call after things have settled down for you.

RJ was a unique man, a tough as nails Marine, a CHiP officer for many years and a friend with a heart of gold. Last saw RJ in June while traveling and was looking forward to our next visit, which will be delayed as he has gone ahead of me to Heaven. I will miss his wit and wisdom.

Our prayers are with your family.
RJ has been a good friend to me for a long time. I will miss the kidding back and forth between us and the birthday cards and emails.
Additional words are not adequate to describe RJ.
Distance and older age will keep me from attending his Memorial Service and I sincerely apologize for that.

Thoughts and prayers are with the family of R.J. I never got a chance to meet Russell in person but enjoyed the banter on the VRCC board very much. I believe he was a kind man with a good heart. He will be missed greatly by his family and by the VRCC. "Challenger" Bradford il.

So very sorry to hear this sad news. Sincere condolences to his family and many, many friends throughout the country. He was definitely one of a kind and touched so many of us in his own special way. A proud and honorable man with a heart of gold and infectious smile and laugh. One who was always the first to offer his hand in help or friendship. He was a man's man. He will be greatly missed. RIP my friend.
