Neil Allen Johnston 48, passed away on Tuesday, February 9th, 2016. He was born on July 5th, 1967 to Danny Johnston and Shirley (Lauderman) Stokes in Fairfield, Iowa.
Neil graduated from Fairfield High School in Fairfield Iowa in 1985. He attended Indian Hills Community College for a short time.
He is survived by his wife, Jill (Davis) Johnston whom he married on October 19, 1991 in Fairfield Iowa. They have three children, Luke Sebastian (17), Cora Danielle (15) and Owen Samuel Johnston (14). Neil and his wife moved to the Des Moines area in 1996 and he worked in sales most of his career. He was a sports enthusiast, but baseball was his favorite and a beloved wishful Cubs fan. He had a passion for WWE Wrestling and enjoyed anything that involved his children whom he loved dearly.
He is also survived by his Father, Danny Johnston (Gloria McCabe); Step father, Rich Stokes; siblings, Denise Johnston, Laurie Woods, Tyler Johnston and Ashley Stoneking. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glen and Kathleen Johnston, Wilmer and Beulah Lauderman; His mother, Shirley; and brother, Kent.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Neil.

I guess I just want to say that I miss my friend & that I'm so sorry for taking that friendship for granted.I know you had a relationship with the Lord & that helps my sadness. Very sad to hear this news. Neil and I spent a lot of time together growing up as our moms were close friends. Neil was always making me laugh and we had a lot of fun together. My love goes out to Jill and Denise and their families.
