Amelia "Mickey" Miklus

Amelia “Mickey” Miklus, 87, was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on September 29, 1928, the daughter of Mike and Ada Miklus. She passed away at Mill-Pond Senior Living on May 15, 2016.
Mickey graduated from Woodside High School and worked at Principal in the Medical Examiner Division for 41 years. She was a member of Marquisville United Methodist Church and VFW Auxiliary Post 9662.
Mickey was a staunch Hawkeye fan, loved flowers, and spending time with her many nieces and nephews.
Mickey is survived by her siblings, Bill Miklus, Jon (Vickie) Miklus, and Daisy (Mario) Marketti; sister-in-law, Mary Miklus; 14 nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Jack Miklus, Bettie Purdy, and Joe Miklus.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2016, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Marquisville United Methodist Church in loving memory of Mickey.
