Mary Jane Bishop

Mary Jane Bishop, 53, of Des Moines, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016. She was born on August 20th, 1962 in Des Moines.

Mary Jane loved her family and friends dearly. She was known for having a huge heart and free spirit. She was very proud of her children and especially proud of her granddaughter and all of her accomplishments. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved listening to music. Mary Jane also loved animals, and had several beloved cats.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her mother Patricia Bishop and father Marvin Bishop. Survivors include significant other, John Montgomery; daughter, Mary A. Bishop; son, David Bishop; granddaughter Kami Sickels; sisters, Sherry (Steven) Thompson and Peggy Bishop; brother, Billy Bishop; stepmother, Martha Bishop.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Hamilton's Funeral home at 605 Lyon Street.
