Betty Lou Anderson

Betty Lou Anderson, 83, passed away peacefully at home on July 19, 2016. She was born April 29, 1933 in Des Moines to James and Goldie Allen. Betty grew up on the East side and eventually went to work for Firestone in July of 1953. In September of that year, she married Robert W. Anderson, Jr.

Betty worked at Firestone for 33 years and then went on to work 25 years for ChildServe. She loved travelling and vacationing.

She is survived by her children, Rob (Tammi) Anderson and Rhonda (Chris) Massey; grandchildren, Shauna (Curtis) Shannon (Kevin), C.J. (Mckenzie Robinson) and Robert (Samantha); great-grandchildren, Dalton, Bre, Chloe, Henley, Hayden, Payton and Embry; and siblings, Warren, Earl, Nancy and Ruth.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and great-grandchildren, Willow, Georgia and Forrest.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Hamilton’s Altoona Funeral Home, 105 4th Street SW, Altoona with visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
