Barbara L. Jones
August 20, 2016
Barbara L. Jones (Baehler), 57, passed from this life August 20, 2016 at home. Barb was born April 23, 1959 and was a lifelong Iowa resident. She graduated from Valley High School in 1977 and went on to earn her BA in Accounting at ISU, remaining a loyal Cyclone fan no matter what the season brought. She began her career at Taylor Industries in the mid-80’s now known as Hussmann. Barb loved her job and co-workers and was a very dedicated accountant earning a Six Sigma “green belt” in her profession.
Barb married David Jones in 1990 and they made their home in West Des Moines with their cat, KC and after his passing, Maxwell. Meticulous to a fault, Barb was always working on a project, whether trimming bushes, gardening or crafting her beautiful sewing creations. Many of these were made with love for her family and friends. She also enjoyed yoga, music, bicycling, and “Bridge Club” with her friends.
Barb is survived by her husband, David; brother, Barton of Des Moines, IA; sister, Brenda (Al); nephews, Peter (Mindy), Josh and Josiah of Stockton CA; mother-in-law, Dorothy Jones; sister-in-law, Sharon Jones of Venice, FL; and many cousins. In addition, Barb had many friends especially her life-long friends and sisters in love, Jenny, Lissy, and Kristine.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bill; her mother, Bea; Uncle Bob and Aunt Nancy Baehler; and her father-in-law, Floyd Jones.
A celebration of life will be held August 26 from 12 to 2 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway followed by burial of her cremated remains at Resthaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Animal Lifeline of Iowa http://www.animal-lifeline.com/.

Well, it's been over three months since her passing, and I still can't believe it. We all miss her sweet spirit so much, and I know she is here every time I think of her. While this has surely been a rough time for you Dave, keep her spirit close, and call on her to help guide you through your darkest hours. God must have really needed her on the other side. Barb is truly missed by us all.

Dave, words cant express how sorry I am for your loss. Ive seen Barb almost every day for the last 24 years and know how deeply she cared for you, her family and friends. While her immediate family was small her Hussmann family was large. It made my heart smile when so many cards, letters and gifts that came for Barb while she was ill and seeing all these posts makes me smile bigger. I dont think Barb realized how many people she touched. She had so much to be proud of. I will miss her dearly.

I have wonderful memories of her in Junior High/High School. She would play guitar in her bedroom on 17th and we would sing along to songs like 'Our House'. She had a beautiful heart. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

David, from the moment I met Barb at Taylor Industries, I knew we just clicked. We had so much in common and had a lot of fun together over the years. It was wonderful to see the two of you connect as you transformed from her "mechanic" to her husband, which brought great joy to my heart. Barb's spirit was inspiring, and I'm so proud to call her my friend... I'm definitely a better person for knowing her. Much Love To You All.
