Marjorie E. Pollock

Marjorie E. Pollock passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Taylor House in the last hours of her 92nd birthday.

She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana to Roy and Merle (Carlson) Sims. She married Robert Pollock on February 16, 1945. Marjorie enjoyed doing word searches, gardening, and listening to country music. Above all, she cherished time with her family.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Sharon (Tom) Morris of Des Moines, Larry Pollock of Knoxville, Steven Pollock of Des Moines, and Gerald (Rosie) Pollock of San Jose, CA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson and her three brothers, all of Des Moines: Dwight (Josephine) Sims, LeRoy Sims, and Ronald (Judy) Sims.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Merle Sims, sister, Clara, brothers, Virgil, Leonard, and Billy, and her son, Gary.

Services will be held at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines on Thursday, October 20, 2016. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. There will be a luncheon after the service, then burial will take place at Waukee Cemetery for any who would like to attend.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
