Lloyd Witt

Lloyd Witt, 90, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016.

He was born in Holstein, Iowa on July 1, 1926 to Vera (Knight) and William C. Witt. He graduated from high school in 1944 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force the same year. He was discharged in 1945.

Lloyd transferred to Luverne, Minnesota where he met the love of his life, Laura Lynn Wiese. They married in December of 1947. The family moved to Mitchell, South Dakota for ten years, then to Pleasant Hill, Iowa where they operated a small grocery store and meat market for 14 years. Lloyd and Laura Lynn were blessed with 58 years of married life and the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Surviving are son, John (Cathy) of Iowa City, grandsons, Eric, Jason (Maria), and Tyler, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

According to Lloyd’s wishes, there will be a simple graveside service at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016 at Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne, MN where he will be laid to rest next to his wife, Laura Lynn, who passed in 2005.
