Marti Knapp passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Marti was born June 9, 1946, to Joseph and Geraldine Darr in Des Moines, Iowa.
She graduated from Saydel High School. She attended Grand View College and Drake University. She worked in the offices at John Deere for 10 years and was a realtor for 14 years.
Marti had many interests including DIY projects, interior design, gardening, floral arranging, and reading. Her most favorite thing was spending time with her grandchildren, especially her one and only grandson, Landon.
Marti is survived by her beautiful daughter, Suzanne (Cris) Friedrickson; her two fantastic granddaughters, Jocelyn and Sheridan; two brothers, Dennis (Dinah) Darr and David (Mary) Darr; nephew, Joe (Brittany) Darr and their daughter, Piper Olivia; her wonderful friends, Jason and Susan Beard; as well as numerous cousins. Marti was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved grandson, Landon.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice-Johnston or to Blank Children’s Hospital in memory of her 8 year old grandson who passed away from neuroblastoma cancer last year.

Our sincere condolences to Suzanne and Family on Marti's passing. I've been reflecting on pleasant memories from our days in the Beaverdale office of IR with Marti. She was always a classy lady and we are proud to have known her.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Marti's death. She bought Avon from me for the past few years and we became good friends, going to lunch and just meeting to visit. I am so sorry for all of you and I will miss her very much. I am sure she and Landon are in each other's arms in heaven
