Darlene Keubler

Mrs. Darlene Keubler, of Madrid, IA passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the age of 84. Darlene was born to parents Jefferson and Nancy Harvey on August 20, 1932, in Des Moines, IA. She grew up as the youngest of 12 and is the last to rejoin her siblings. In 1950, she married her sweetheart, Delbert Keubler. They proceeded to have 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Delbert and Darlene were married for 66 years, during this time they enjoyed working on their farm, camping, playing cards, square dancing, and traveling to Arizona for the winters. Darlene had a green thumb and enjoyed tending her flower beds. On Tuesdays, they could be found joining their friends at Prairie Meadows. Family dinners were enjoyed on a regular basis with all of the kids, grandkids, and great grandkids! The past few years, the great grandkids have enjoyed building a fairy garden with their great grandma. They will be building again this year and sharing the memories of sitting there with Grams and arranging all of the little pieces.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Delbert; her daughter, Dorene (Tom) Swalla; her son, Jake (Janie) Keubler; and her daughter, Deanna (Virgil) Morrill.

Darlene will be laid to rest at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery. At her request, a private family interment will be held. Any donations can be made to the Iowa Alzheimer’s Association or to UnityPoint Hospice.
