Jennie Mortley

Jennie O. Mortley, 95, of Polk City, passed away peacefully on Labor Day, September 4th, 2017. Jennie was born on July 15, 1922 in Ringgold County, Iowa to Opal (Cline) and William O. Stiman.

Jennie retired in 1987 after 45+ years of dedicated, loyal service for CDS Global. Jennie was a very talented artist. What she treasured most in life was her family and the time she spent with them.

Those left to cherish her loving memory are her children, Jimmie L. (Barb) Bennett, Sr., Richard M. (Debra) Bennett - Woods and Cheryl (Ron) Deveraux; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family and beloved friends who will greatly miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Susan M. Mitchell and her siblings, Charles Stiman, George Stiman, James Stiman, Ethel Warner and Nellie Stiman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at Southlawn Cemetery in Seymour, Iowa.
