Robert James Robinson, Sr.

Robert James Robinson, Sr., age 38, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Robert was born April 25, 1979, in Ogden, Utah. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1998 to 2002. His family was the most important thing in his life and he loved his children unconditionally. His favorite pastime was making memories with his kids. Robert was a very caring person and was such a fan of Girl Scout cookies that he earned the nickname, “Cookie Monster.”

Robert is survived by his wife, Harlie; children, R.J., Reaunna, Chloe, Dallia-Rose and Jacob; parents, Dale and Lynda Robinson and Kathy Massey; siblings, Scott (Hala), Chessica (William), Lee, Reaunna and Jenny. Also Kristy, mother of Reaunna and R.J., and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Mary Ann Stratman.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will begin at 9:00 a.m. Friday, September 15, also at Hamilton’s, followed by burial with military honors at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Adel at 11:00 a.m.
