Gary A. Frakes

Gary Allen Frakes, 54, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Gary was born September 14, 1963, in Des Moines, Iowa, to David and Rowena Frakes. He served in the United States Army from 1981 to 1984. He worked at IHOP as a server and was a dedicated, hard worker. Gary was a loving husband and father. He treasured time spent with his family, especially his boys. He was very funny and he had a great sense of humor. Gary enjoyed bowling and playing on his phone. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and KC Royals fan, and his favorite player was Alex Gordon.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Shawna Frakes; his beloved sons, Kenny Christian, Alex Frakes and Nicholas Frakes; his sisters, Sherry Wahlert and Mary Peterson; and his niece, Cassie Hanson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rowena Hutchinson; brother, Larry Peterson; and nephew, Chris Wahlert.

There will be no services held at this time.
