Born to Paul Sebatunzi and Debora Mukandekezi
Preceded in death by parents Paul Sebatunzi and Deborah Mukandekezi and three children. Survived by his loving wife and eight children, five brothers and three sisters, and two grandchildren.
Phenias and Mukamana were married on July 25, 1991 in Congo. They enjoyed twenty-seven years of marriage, and were deeply devoted to each other and their family.
Phenias was educated in Democratic Republic of the Congo. In his lifetime, Phenias worked as a carpenter building houses and was a successful business man, and a farmer.
Phenias was known for his kindness and understanding, as a man everyone went to for advice, and he always made time to help those who came to him. He had a generous heart, and took pleasure in helping his family, friends, neighbors, and anyone in need. In Congo, Phenias gave more than ten cows to the poor and people in need, and he even generously gave land to a person in need so they could build a house and future for themselves. After coming as a refugee to Florida in the United States, after establishing himself, he gave away two cars to help newly arrived refugees.
In his youth, Phenias was an avid soccer player. He also enjoyed watching soccer games in his later years. He also enjoyed following the news, watching television, and keeping up on current events. Phenias loved gospel music, and he was known to sing and listen with all his heart in praise.
Phenias was a godly man. He dedicated his life to Christ in 1974 in Congo. From that day forward, Phenias lived his life to serve Christ and his teachings. He supported the church financially and through good deeds. In Congo, in his younger years, Phenias also sang in service to Christ and led the worship group in song and praise. Since 1974, Phenias also guided and encouraged his family to dedicate themselves and their lives to God through worship, prayer, and service through Christ’s teachings.
Phenias entered into rest 01/30/2018 at 10:30 pm after an illness affecting his liver. Phenias will be missed greatly by all who had the good fortune to know him. We will miss him every day and will never forget him. Phenias will live on in our hearts. We wish him good rest in the arms of his creator, and we will see him again in heaven.
