JoAnn Deaton

JoAnn Deaton, 79, of Des Moines, passed away on Wednesday, June 13th, 2018 in Avalon Hospice. She was born September 21, 1938 in Des Moines, Iowa to Joe and Raymonde Herbinger.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Raymonde Herbinger. She is survived by her Husband of nearly 60 years, Garry Deaton; her sons, Tracy (Kristy) Deaton, Troy (Rhonda) Deaton, Timothy (Kaylee) Deaton; Sister Margaret (Thomas) Mackie; 10 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.

JoAnn fought with grace and dignity. She knew what her future would bring. She knew her body would stay strong, but her mind would fade. All memories would soon be erased. But in her soul, she knew one day God would heal her. Reuniting her with her parents. Bringing back all the wonderful memories of her life. She knew that in time her family will again join her in heaven, where God has made a special place for all who believe.

JoAnn is remembered for her devotion to and love for her family. She loved family gatherings while watching and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchild. JoAnn could always be found in her yard working in her flower garden, which was one of her passions.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday June 23, 2018 from 10 am-12 pm with a Memorial Service to begin at 11:30 am at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Private Inurnment to be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
