Carleen Gall

Carleen Ann Gall, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, January 10, 2019.

Carleen was born October 22, 1939 in Colfax, Iowa to Carl and Dorothy (Wheeler) Bauer. She graduated from Mitchellville High School and Iowa Wesleyan University. Carleen married Max Webb and to this union, three children were born. She worked for numerous businesses in Administration prior to her retirement. She worked for Big River Forklift where she met her second husband, John. She went on to work for Dealer’s Hobby, Billings & Gage, Diamond Crystal, Mitchell Village, and finally Bolton & Hay.

Carleen played the organ for St. Joseph’s and was more recently a member of Saints John and Paul Catholic Church in Altoona. She was devoted to her family and loved every second she could spend with them. When her children were growing up, she was the score keeper for every baseball and softball game, and never missed a single game. She enjoyed snow skiing, fishing, camping and water skiing. She taught her grandchildren to play poker - Las Vegas and Prairie Meadows will miss her.

She is survived by her children, Bill (Samantha) Webb, Stan (Mary) Webb, and Lorraine (Mark) Beard, five grandchildren, Stacey (Bob), Randi, Derek (Amber), Frank, and Nick (Abby) and seven great-grandchildren, George, Madelyn, Maxwell, Harper, Hayes, Emery and Dylan. Carleen was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Dorothy Bauer, husband, John Gall, and her grandson, Ryan Webb.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 18, 2019 at Saints John and Paul Catholic Church, 1401 1st Avenue South, Altoona. Burial will take place at Mitchellville Cemetery after services.
